About
I am constantly awed by the power that a bold pattern can hold over the occupants of a room - the mood that an image can immediately impart, or the giddy comfort that a touch of sumptuous fabric can bring to the tips of one’s fingers. It’s my number one goal to share that inexplicable kind of joy with you.
My passion for textiles, textures, colour and design have taken me down many roads, and included years of studying a multitude of disciplines, including textile/surface design, fine arts, felting, dyeing, and fashion design, just to name a few. I have an insatiable appetite for learning new skills, and even after a twenty year career as a touring musician, I always knew that life would lead me back to this form of creative expression.
Everything we do at Pulp + Loom is small batch, and made-to-order here in Canada, because I don’t believe in mass-creating objects that nobody really wants or needs. There’s enough of that in the world already!
Please feel free to contact me personally if you have a dream project you’d love to discuss!
cheers,
Kate
